Upon graduation, he worked for the American Red Cross at Charleston Air Force Base. The Red Cross chose him as a field representative to travel to Florida to prepare medical supplies and other goods in exchange for American prisoners in the Bay of Pigs debacle. From 1963 – 65, he taught Latin at Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama and freshman Latin at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Before founding the Sedona Intensive 25 years ago, Gaulden worked in diverse fields such as advertising, academia, public relations, philanthropy, sales and marketing.

A member of the National Association of Transpersonal Psychology and the American Federation of Astrologers, Gaulden coined the term “astroanalysis”—a combination of Jungian psychology and astrology—to describe how he helps free clients from compulsions, addictions and unresolved issues, which keep them from living lives of peace and joy.

In 1986, Gaulden worked with international best-selling author of The Celestine Prophecy, James Redfield, in the innovative and one-of-a-kind personal empowerment program, the Sedona Intensive, which Gaulden founded in 1982. Gaulden was hired to use his gifts as an astro-intuitive to help cast Redfield’s movie of The Celestine Prophecy.

Born in Canada, Jeff Brown did all the things he was supposed to do to become successful in the eyes of the world. He was on the Dean’s Honor List as an undergraduate.  He was awarded the Law and Medicine Prize during Law School. He apprenticed with famous criminal lawyer, Eddie Greenspan.  It had been Jeff’s life long time dream to practice criminal law and search for the truth in the courtroom.

But then, on the verge of opening a law practice, he heard a little voice inside telling him to stop, just stop.  With great difficulty, he honored the inner voice and began a heartfelt quest for the truth that harbored within.  Although he wasn’t aware at that time, he was actually questing for his innate image, the essential being that he came into this lifetime to materialize.  He was searching for his authentic face.

As part of his journey, Jeff experienced some profound opportunities, such as: Studied Bioenergetics, and did session work, with co-founder Alexander Lowen, practiced as a body-centered psychotherapist, completed an M.A. in Psychology at Saybrook Graduate School in San Francisco and he also co-founded the Open Heart Gang, a benevolent gang with a heartfelt intention.  Their first act of gratitude is the nearly completed production of a documentary about the life of Bhagavan Das (of Be Here Now fame), called Karmageddon.  This inspirational film includes wonderful dialogues with Jeff and world-renowned spiritual teacher Ram Dass, wise yogis Seane Corn and David life, and divine chanters Deva Premal and Miten.

The most important accomplishment for Jeff was his inner work.  By going inside and connecting his spirituality and his emotional body, he learned essential lessons.  By surrendering to the School of Heart Knocks, or “the school of life”, he found his authentic face.

Through this more authentic lens, he wrote the recent book release, ‘Soulshaping,’ a grounded and magical inner travelogue that takes the reader along the paths he walked that are highly relatable and in deeply meaningful ways. Dr. Suzan Caroll, the author of 'Becoming One: People and Planet (Volume One)' is a sought-after psychotherapist and a life-long student of metaphysics and world religions. Suzanne holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology, an MA in Audiology, and a BA in Speech Pathology. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Hypnotherapist, she has been counseling in private practice for over twenty four years.
