Sevilla vs. Manchester City result, highlights and analysis as Erling Haaland inspires UEFA Champions League rout

Erling Haaland scored a goal in each half as Manchester City cruised to a 4-0 win in their UEFA Champions League Group G opener against Sevilla.

Haaland converted Kevin De Bruyne's cross to score his 11th goal in seven games since joining City from Borussia Dortmund.

Sevilla sent on striker Rafa Mir at halftime in an attempt to offer a greater attacking threat but that left them exposed on the break for Phil Foden to complete a smart dribble and finish.

Foden looked for his second in the 67th minute and, when Sevilla goalkeeper Bono parried his strike,

Haaland was on hand to score the 25th goal of his Champions League career in just his 20th appearance.

In stoppage time, Ruben Dias converted a cross from the excellent Joao Cancelo to complete the rout and boos rained down from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stands as Sevilla suffered their fourth defeat in five games this term.
